Over the past few years, the need for equipping youth workers in the churches we partner with has become very obvious. Over an extended weekend, our Alpiniș Outdoor Challenge team with Jonathan Hoppin from Wilderness Ministry Institute, CO, USA, led us on a journey of (re)discovering the heart of youth ministry. We learned, spent time in Scripture and worship and planned together with youth workers from various areas in Romania. It was a special time which impacted the participants and we are very grateful for it. We looked at ways in which we can focus our whole work on the Gospel, how we establish a Scripture basis for this work and we learned practical skills such as group dynamics, dealing with conflict and the use of games and experience in learning. We want to share with you a few pictures and testimonies from our Counseling and Content training weekend at Alpiniș.
We very much appreciate your prayers and participation in this work, thank you!
May our Lord bless you and keep you,
Emil Toader
I left Alpiniș with a changed heart. I am now ready to do God’s will. The quiet moment we had while hiking, coordinated by Cosmin, was a moment when God gave me peace and understanding. Also, I will try to make more time to enjoy the nature because I saw at Alpiniș how God can speak to me when I am in a silent beautiful place and I want this more in my life. God is good! (George, Bucharest)
I am grateful for this unique opportunity and for the young and wise people who taught us so many deep and practical things. I have never had a clear understanding on handling conflicts, thank you for teaching me how to see and approach them wisely. God bless you! (Ghiță, Fetesti)
Thank you for this wonderful weekend at Alpiniș! I am used to separating outdoors, hiking and games from the devotional time but here I learnt that they can be so wonderfully combined. (Emanuel, Timisoara)
This weekend motivated me to step out of my comfort zone and experience God more. I cannot wait to implement in my local church what I learned here: Biblical study methods, personal development ideas, games and activities. Thank you for everything! (Andrei, Călărași)
This weekend reminded me that the ministry is in God’s hands, not mine. This gives hope and faith to trust in His strength rather than mine. I was also challenged to better organize my personal spiritual life. (Emanuela, Calarasi)
