We have been busy lately at Children at Risk preparing for winter. Last week with the help of twelve boys from the Juvenile Hall in Buzias holes were dug in order to plant about 400 trees in the orchard and the girls from Deborah House helped to complete this project. We hope to see them grow strong and make fruit.
A new project was started at Buzias with the girls in the Correctional Center to teach them twice a month how to cook. This is a development program that will help them have a few useful skills for life. They enjoy having Rodica as a teacher and mentor and also sharing the meals they cook.
On Saturday some of the Deborah House girls together with eight girls from the Juvenile Hall in Buzias were taught how to make Christmas decorations and how to crochet. They had a lot of fun learning new things and spending time together.
