DSC_4438_800x534For any child, the camp is the highlight of the holiday. For the girls at Deborah House the camp is even more special as it is offered every year and spend together with a Short Term Mission Team. This year the girls spent a memorable week at Alpinis, Sibiu with a group of 18 friends from Northern Ireland and Spain. The days of camp were woven of Bible lessons, songs, games, a visit to Dumbrava in Sibiu at the zoo, crafts and of course Arka Park. The devotional moments had as theme the verse in Acts 2:42 “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.” The girls also received personalized gifts from our friends in Northern Ireland, which they enjoyed enormously.

DSC_5667_800x534After a week spent with the girls from Deborah House, the team went to Moldova Noua, Caras Severin, where together with the local Baptist Church Maranatha a Vacation Bible School for children was held in the little mining town on the Danube for three days. It was a blessed time with about 100 children every day. Besides games, crafts, songs and Bible lessons, the children had lunch with the team. In one of the days we held a meeting with young people, and on the last day we had a special church meeting with the parents of the children; they could see a few glimpses of what their children had learned during those days. Also, the team was able to visit several poor families giving them basic foods.
