At the beginning of the month, Mr. Barnes and Mr. Morrow from Northern Ireland visited the girls from Deborah House. They were so happy to spend the afternoon together with their life-long friends.
The girls were very busy in December baking and crafting decorations. On December 6th we had a competition between the two houses. They each baked chocolate and banana muffins, ginger glazed cookies, snowball cookies and the Romanian cozonac (Christmas short bread) after which they had a party enjoying the goodies they made. They also made Christmas decorations and they were very creative.
The girls who had excellent results at school and who had no absence, they were rewarded with a meal at McDonald’s and a Christmas concert at the Philharmonics. They were delighted to receive such a nice prize and be congratulated for what they had achieved.
In Romania we have the tradition to go caroling before and at Christmas, so the girls led by Little John visited a few companies like Waterford, Transelectrica, Smithfield and the pharmacy Laura Cons and they brought joy to the ones who listened to them sing. They were also invited at Bethany Baptist to sing carols before Christmas and it was such an encouragement to hear the girls proclaiming the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.
