Deborah House
- A new 13 year old girl came to Deborah House at the beginning of March. She used to be in the care of a professional maternal assistant, but the mother took ill and passed away. The girl is shy and because of the circumstances in which she came it is harder for her to adjust. Including the other 3 sisters who came in January, Deborah House has 24 girls.
- Opera Rotary Club organized a work meeting on the attic floor at Deborah House 2. On this occasion its representatives officiated the reception of the sponsored furniture and equipment.
- Life Water Association sponsored pizza packages and we are very grateful for that.
- When Romanians celebrated Women’s day on March 8th United Way Romania gave gifts to all the girls who are over 14 from Deborah House, Aspirations, Harmony project at the Juvenile Hall in Buzias and from the Back to School Program in Recas.
Aspirations
The project developed in collaboration with United Way entitled “Education and healthcare for children from disadvantaged families” which aims to increase access to education for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds is continuing and of the 9 girls included in this project, 6 have already finished the career counselling meetings having concrete objectives for the next period. One of them started attending a trade course and three others will start soon.
This spring all the girls were invited to the Bistra Restaurant by the Children at Risk Director, Lorena Rusovan, when they also celebrated the birthday of one of the girls who used to be a beneficiary and who now works abroad.
Harmony
The children from the primary school in Recas handmade Easter cards. The older children together with the ones from The Juvenile Reeducation Center in Buzias participated in a program regarding creative recycling.
